    Mortgage i) Waldegrave Cooper Battely, Ipswich, Suffolk, gentleman ii) Ellen Battely, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, spinster iii)Charles William Godbull, Ipswich, gentleman reciting will of Ellen Maria Downes, Ipswich, Suffolk, widow, dated 19 April 1888 by which she appointed nephew,i),and niece,ii), as executor and executrix. She bequeathed all the residue of her real estate to them as tenants in common charged with payment to nephew, Charles Waldegrave Battely, then resident in New Zealand, at expiration of 5 years after her decease,of 7s per week for life She died on 12 December 1890. Will proved 3 February 1891 (Ipswich) Now in consideration of £500 paid in equal moieties to i) and ii) by iii), and interest at £4 10s % p.a. i) and ii) convey to iii) - 70 and 72, High Street, Bedford, now in occupations of the executors of E Rawlins and of J W Maxwell (as in plan on deed of 24 December 1868) to secure repayment of said £500 and interest i) and ii) covenant to pay said 7s per week to C W Battely when due Premises to be insured against fire signatures of i) and ii) witness James W Almond, Trinity Pilot, Aldeburgh 9 March 1891 also endorsed with Reconveyance i) Charles William Godball ii) Waldegrave Cooper Battely; Ellen Battely consideration - all principal money and interest having been paid i) conveys to ii) - above mentioned property to use of ii) freed from all principal and interest signature of i) witness H M Jasaman, sol, Ipswich 21 July 1896.
