Mortgage i) John Savill, Bedford, draper, and wife Sarah (niece and heir of Edward Stockdale, late of Bedford, tailor, deceased) ii) Elizabeth Benson, Bedford, spinster iii) William Watkins, Woburn, brandy merchant consideration - £200 paid to i) by ii) i) demise to ii) - messuage or tenement lately in occupation of said Edward Stockdale, in Bedford High Street S yard belonging to messuages of Miss Mary Franklin, now in occupations of Thomas Baynes and Thomas Warr N messuage of Mrs Elizabeth Mason, lately in occupation of Mrs Hurst E High Street (which said messuage or ground or soil on which it has been lately erected was purchased by Edward Stockdale from Henry Fryer or Nicholas Franklin) - garden or little piece ground adjoining and lately purchased by John Savill from Mary Franklin term - 1000 years rent - 1 peppercorn to secure repayment of said £200 and interest at 5% p.a. being same sum as is mentioned in bond of even date and made between John Savill and ii) in £400 and intended as security for said £200 i) covenant to levy fine of the premises to iii) to use of ii) or i) signatures of i) and iii) endorsed receipt witnesses Rich Lovesey; Whitley Sale, his clerk.
