  • Title
Bundle of correspondence concerning the sale of the Fountain public house at Eaton Bray by Richard Fountain to Henry Fowler of the Brewery, Woburn. Included are letters from the solicitor concerned - John Greene of Woburn to Messrs Willis and Willis of Leighton Buzzard. Mr Fowler requested that part of the purchase price remained on mortgage. However as proof of payment of the charge under the will of John Franklin could not be given the original sale was not completed. Eventually a reduced price was accepted. It was also mentioned that a right of way was reserved to Mr Fowler on the north side of the cottages over the premises.
