Title
Probate of the will of John Fountain, the elder, Eaton Bray, victualler and cordwainer
all debts etc to be paid
... to son, John Fountain
- all cottages, tenements, lands, premises etc., in Eaton Bray, for ever
son to permit testator's wife, Mary, to dwell with him in dwelling house called The Chequer, for 2 months after his death, without paying rent
Also to permit said Mary Fountain, after she leaves The Chequer to peaceably enjoy such part of the cottage in occupation of Francis Seabrook, with 2 barns, orchards etc, for life rent free
Son to keep the premises in repair
Subject to payment of annuity of £8 to said Mary Fountain, to be paid quarterly

- å of any debts owing at his decease for ale and beer

- other moiety of said debts
... also to wife
- 40 good or sizeable faggots or other convenient firewood, or value in money,to be given by his son yearly for life
If not given then Mary Fountain may find a workman to cut down some wood from his estate as shall amount to above quantity

- all her wearing apparel, best bed, bedstead, and furniture, sheets, linen, clock with case standing in parlour, such other household goods to value of £15 as she shall choose and coals and firewood as shall be left out at the time of his decease
Shall not be lawful for wife to make choice of clock with case standing upstairs, nor chest in bedchamber as these are bequeathed to his son
Son to permit Benjamin Hubbins, an old tenant to reside in that part of the cottage which he now holds 'and occupies of me' for life if he chooses on payment of same rent as he now pays

- residue of household goods, stock as a victualler,ready money, personal estate etc. in full confidence that son will truely and faithfully execute all things contained in this will
