  • Title
Bond(£94) i) William Partridge, Tilsworth, yeoman George Cressey, Eaton Bray, yeoman ii)Edward Symonds, Charley End, Caddington, yeoman reciting mortgage of 29 December 1708 of above property. Title of George Cressey and consequently of William Partridge to said property appears to be doubtful if not totally void. Fee simple of said premises is said by Counsel to be in John Cressey, eldest brother of George unless that when George Cressey and wife Ann (father and mother of said George and John) levied a fine of the premises they likewise declared the uses of the fine as touching the said premises, to George Cressey, deceased, in such manner that he might dispose of the premises to his son by will. Said deed of declaration (if ever made) cannot at present be found. As William Partridge has occasion for his money, ii) at request of i), on their agreeing to make good the title of said premises, has purchased property for £47. Now condition of this obligation is that if i) deliver to ii) within 3 years their said deed or declaration of use or procure John Cressey or his heirs to execute to ii) a legal release of the premises, then bond void signatures of i) witnesses Hannah Leventhorp Wm Jordan Richd Rogers Tho Shotbolt
