Deed of Covenants between Charles Higgins (i) and Thomas Garratt (ii), for the production of scheduled title deeds in accordance with the provisions of a deed of lease and release and bargain and sale dated 27 and 28 Apr 1787 made between (i), (ii) and Edward Baber for the conveyance of Turvey Manor and land lying in Carlton parish and of Z 178/14-16, for the conveyance of lands in Turvey and Steventon. Recites the title deeds relate to the land in both conveyances, however that purchased by (i) is greater than that purchased by (ii), and it was agreed (i) should be made principal custodian of the title deeds. Schedule begins with Indentures of Lease and Release dated 3 and 4 1641, between John, Earl of Peterborough and his wife Lady Elizabeth and Francis Earl of Bedford, Henry Lord Maltrowers, Sir Henry Compton, Sir Rowland Saint John and Oliver Saint John Esquire, purporting to be a settlement of the manor of Turvey and all other lands and hereditaments of the said John, Earl of Peterborough.
