    Obituary from Bedfordshire Standard 'Principal of Messrs E H C Inskip and Son, architects and surveyors, Mr Ernest H C Inskip of 31 Goldington Road Bedford died on Wednesday. [3 January 1951] He was 71. Well known and popular in the town, he had a cheerful and energetic personality. Born in Bedford, the son of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas Inskip, he had lived in the town all his life, receiving his education at Bates's School. For 29 years Mr Inskip was Surveyor to Kempston Urban District Council, and for 50 years had practised as an architect and surveyor in Bedford. He was Chairman of Bedford Steam Laundry Co Ltd, a director of Bedford Permanent Building Society, a director of Hertfordshire Tar Stone Co. of Watford and had been chairman of the local board of Bedford General Insurance Co Ltd since it was re-formed in 1936. He was formerly a director of the County Press (Bedford) Ltd publishers of the Bedfordshire Standard. Mr Inskip was for many years a member of Bedford Borough Bowling Club and was a former president. He was also a Trustee of St John's Hospital Trust. He leaves a widow, one son Mr G M Inskip, of Rothsay Gardens and one daughter, Mrs R M Dodds of Bromham Road. The funeral service will take place at St Cuthbert's Church, Bedford on Monday at 10.30 am. Cremation will follow at Cambridge. [See also Bedfordshire Times 12 January for report of the funeral]
