- Admin/biog historyHaving been held in plurality for some years, the benefices of Battlesden and Potsgrove were united by the Bishop of Lincoln on 6 June 1732. Battlesden church was closed in 1928, and Potsgrove became the parish church of a new united benefice created by order in Council made in that year. The church at Battlesden was later re-opened, and regular services recommenced in 1949. Following the quinquennial inspection of Potsgrove church in 1966, the Church was closed and in 1967 the Diocesan Advisory Committee recommended that it should not be re-opened. After some discussion it was declared redundant in 1971, and Battlesden is now the parish church of the united benefice. Potsgrove church has been vested in the Redundant Churches Fund, which is responsible for the upkeep of the building, and the Churchyard is still in use as a burial ground.
