    Troubled by letter - never knew Richard's financial circumstances but knew always been a shortness of money, which many suffer from but keep on in business; proper persons to consult with were his cousins - made right decision Annie at Sharnbrook. William away at Smedleys. Discounts idea of backdated note of hand. Wife can prove debt against husband. Hope securities good enough to cover all that is due to her. No doubt she is largest creditor apart from Bank. No good in appointing writer becuase no direct interest - lives too far away in any case.
