Sarah Jane Mallett and her sister Lizzie Goodwin standing outside 148 Arlesey High Street, part of Foresters Terrace. All the inhabitants belonged to the Foresters Friendly Society, based at the Morning Star lodge. Sarah Jane and Charles Robert Mallett moved into no.148 after their wedding in 1894 and they were its first inhabitants after it was built. As it belonged to the Foresters, Sarah Jane Mallett was able to remain in the house with her children after the death of her husband.
