SIDE A (00 mins)Has learned a lot about Stewartby's history form a project at school. Visited elderly former brickworkers and their wives at the retirement homes in the village. Her maternal grandfather and great-grandfather worked at the brickworks. Has learned about the visit to Stewartby brickworks by Prince Philip (Queen Elizabeth 11's husband) when he was presented with a dinosaur backbone fossil, 140 million years old) found in one of the clay pits. She has a fossil found by her grandfather (05 mins)Her fossil is 10 million years' old. London Brick Company houses in the village. She quite like having chimneys at Stewartby because it makes people come and visit the village but the smoke comes past their house occasionally. (10 mins)Village roads named after British wartime military heroes of the Second World War : Montgomery, Churchill, Wavell and Alexander. Pride in Stewartby once being the largest brickwork in the world. She would like to make bricks, working at the presses. (15 mins)Brickwork's accident when a machine caught fire.
