Has recently studied the history of the brickworks in the area. Knows there used to be about 130 brickwork chimneys in the 1930s. His great grandfather worked on the presses in the brickworks in Stewartby. He used to cycle to work from where he lived in Bromham. Met a few former brickworkers at school while doing the project. (05 mins)Asked them questions about what Stewartby used to be like when it was an industrial village for the brickworkers: location of former outdoor swimming pool. Would like to be a vet when he grows up. Has many pets at home. Thinks that if he had been born in an earlier generation, he would have worked in the brickworks. Has seen sparrow hawks in the area. Reflects on the fact that there was just one farm and three cottages at a place called Wootton Pilling, before the model village of Stewartby was built in the early 1930s. In the 1940s/1950s the villages roads were named / re-named after wartime generals such as Montgomery and Wavell. The village was named after the name of the managing family at the brickworks - Stewart. Wartime need to grow their own vegetables.
