By an act passed in the reign of William IV "to facilitate the conveyance of Workhouses and other property of Parishes and of Incorporations or Unions of Parishes", the Guardians of the Poor of the Bedford Union, John Thomas Dawson and Thomas Grant, the churchwardens, and James Crisp and Samuel Rogers, the overseers of the poor of Clapham, for 28 from John Baxter of Bedford, butcher, to Thomas Barnard, treasurer of the Union, to be placed to the "Clapham Parish Property Account"
- convey 2 cottages near Clapham Green, occ by Elizabeth Cowley and Sarah Pickering, widows, with garden ground, containing about 20 poles, bounded W by public raod, E by orchard occ by John Crisp, S by cottage and garden occ by James Crowley belonging to the parish and mainly used for the acception of the poor
