Title
Letter to Alec from his mother, 326 Ampthill Road, Bedford. Had a nice holiday but the weather was not at all good. Dad went back to work early as his dairy-foreman wanted two days off to see his son on embarkation leave. Had a bad day, the horse Molly bolted and dragged the man along the ground after he fell off the cart, he had to go to hospital. Mrs Durham has also left as her husband has got a job nearer their home. We brought Whisky, George's dog back with us and they have a little baby girl now and they don't want him. We are keeping him in the kennel as we have Tibby in the house.
Still don't know if Gordon has left yet. Freda is at St.Johns Dairy one day a week. Alfred is in hospital with a poisoned finger.
