  • Title
    Extracted probate copy of the will of William Pettingill (farmer), late of Caisler, Norfolk. Appoints Thomas Hinds (farmer), Lingwood, Norfolk, Maria Hinds (spinster), late of the same place but now residing with testator, Samuel Hinds (blacksmith/farmer) also of the same place, as executors and trustees. Bequeaths to Maria Hinds for her natural life, all his lands, tenements and hereditaments in Caister West End, subject to encumbrances thereon. Also his household furniture, linen, plate, china, monies, securities for monies and all his personal estate and effects, after payment of funeral and testamentary expenses. After decease of M. Hinds he bequeaths the same to Georgianna Hind of Lingwood, the illegitimate daughter of M. Hinds, free from the control, debts, interference ar engagements of any future husband. During her minority the trustees are to keep the property in good repair. Bequeaths the following legacies to be paid by G. Hinds in her discretion as to time, but within seven years of M. Hind's decease: 15 each to Thomas Hinds; John Hinds (wheelright) of Freethorpe, Norfolk; Henry Hinds of Blundestor, Suffolk; Christmas Hinds of Freethorpe; Samuel Hinds; James Hinds (wheelright) of Freethorpe; Elizabeth Hunn, wife of James Hunn of Freethorpe. After decease of G. Hinds the trustees are to sell the same and divide the monies arising from the sale between the children of G. Hinds. If G. Hinds dies without issue, then the monies arising from the sale are to be divided amongst the seven abovementioned legatees.
