Title
Abstract of title of William Wells Kiplin and others to a freehold cottage in Battison Street, Bedford. Abstracting as follows:
(I) Indenture dated 26 July 1867 between the vendors William Henry Elger (gentleman), Parliament Street, Middlesex and Thomas Gwyn E. Elger (gentleman), Bedford, and the purchaser William Haynes. The vendors' land was part of an estate called the Kirkpatrick estate, in the parish of Saint Paul's, Bedford, bounded on the north by the property of Jno. Hull, on the south by W.H. Elger and T.G.E. Elger, on the east by Battison Street, and on the west by Western Road. The vendors were possessed of an estate of inheritance in fee simple in equal undivided shares as tenants in common. The vendors had contracted to sell the property and the fee simple and inheritance to the purchaser for 159.
(II) Recites that by indenture of mortgage dated 27 July 1867, William Haynes conveyed for 750 the property mentioned in (I) above and five dwelling houses lately erected thereon by W. Haynes to William Preston the younger (farmer), Cardington, Bedfordshire.
(III) Indenture of mortgage dated 3 August 1871, between W. Preston and Matthew Castledine (butcher), Newport Pagnell, Buckinghamshire. 750 still owing but interest paid up to date. M. Castledine agrees to pay 750 to W. Preston on having transfer of mortgage and securities for same.
(IV) Will of M. Castledine (dated 28 June 1871). He appoints his wife Emma,(formerly Emma Adams), son Christopher, and friends George Faulkner (gentleman), Cranfield, and Jno. Odell (ironmonger), Newport Pagnell, as executors and trustees of his will. Testator bequeathed all estates unto executors upon trust and subject to equities.
(V) Indenture dated 16 October 1869 between W. Haynes (the assignor) of the first part, the trustees for the joint and seperate creditors of the assignor of the second part, and the several creditors of the assignor of the third part. The assignor, in consideration of the premises and 5/- (paid by the trustees), conveyed his property to the trustees for the benefit of his creditors.
