  • Title
    Probate will of John Sturges (yeoman), Newton, Blossomville, Buckinghamshire. Proved on the 11 April 1807. He bequeaths his cottage with appurtenances in Newton, in the occupation of William Clare, to his daughter Mary Sturges. He gives his two cottages with appurtenances in Carlton, in the occupation of Walter Clark, to his son Thomas for the term of his natural life. After Thomas's death, his daughter Susanna Sheffield is to inherit this property. He bequeaths 30 to his daughter Susanna, 5 to Susanna's own daughter (also called Susanna) payable on her 21st birthday, 30 to his son John Sturges. Thomas is to inherit the remainder of his money and personal estate, after payment of debts and funeral expences. Thomas is appointed sole executor. Includes extract from the parish registry books of Newton, Blossomville, Bucks. which reads "Buried Susanna wife of Austin Sheffield March 27th 1803. A daughter of this name was buried in 1812."
