    Francis May to Samuel May Strange 16 Jan 1863 Whitechapel Rd E., London. 16.1.1863 Dear Sam - I duly received thy letter acknowledging my share of thy present - It is a great satisfaction to me to believe thee worthy of the kindness of thy relatives, and especially so as being the eldest of the three brothers & I trust thou wilt be encouraged to follow the same Course, with the full assurance that it is sure to lead to the peace of thy own mind & to thy advancement even in this world - I notice thy remarks in regard to thy position at Saffron Walden - don't allow thy mind to become any way unsettled, but perform thy duties efficiently, retaining in every way the good opinion of thy employers, rest assured the reward will come sooner or later - we know thy wish & I shall not forget it shou'd any right opening present.
