J.S.Robson to Edward Harris Strange 17 July 1860 Walden 7 mo:17.1860 Dear Friend Edward Strange Our Oswald Bennell was taken very ill with haemorrhage [sic] of the Lungs, last 7th day & our Medical Man takes an unfavourable view of his case. O.B. wished Edward May to be written to, that he might communicate with his Doctor here, we have done so - & have a letter from Edward May this morning, wherein he mentions thy having a Son about 19 or 20 -that he thinks may want a Situation, if so, will he write to us. We feel a delicacy in engaging an assistant in O.B.'s place under present circumstances, but we very much doubt his being equal to take the situation at least for some time to come, he is a young man we value, both as regards his conduct & business ability - his Sister is now here to attend to him, & he is to be removed to his brother as soon as he is able - I am thy Sincere friend John C.Robson Envelope [18.7.1860] penny red perforated: Edward H.Strange Postmarks SAFFRON WALDEN AMPTHILL Ampthill 19.7.1860 Beds.
