John Watson Strange to Edward Harris Strange 27 June 1860 133 High St Boro Jun 27th 1860 My dear Uncle No doubt you have often wondered what has become of me. I am in London still as you can see by this. My health has greatly improved since I saw you, indeed I don't feel like the same being. I heard from home the other day. They are well, and getting on about the same as usual, William is Governor General at home as well as the Bridge. Joseph is in a situation in London he has only just come up, so I cant say much about him, but still I think I may venture to say he'll do. We have had a deal of rain in London of late, it has ruined trade. I trust however things will brighten. My employer says he'll go to California or somewhere else, if trade dont alter soon. As you have the paper every day I wont attempt to tell you what is going on, except to say that the {Orphionists} have had a very good reception, with the exception of the first night at Islington, which you no doubt know of. With very kind love to you all I am Yours Sincerely John W.Strange.
