My dear M.E.
I was sorry the gloves were too large. I now send thee another pair about the right size, they are rather light but we have no dark ones of the proper size.
I am quite obliged by thy offer to make some things for {me}, but my wants in the small way are so well supplied that I can hardly find an order for thee - I just recollect that I shall soon want a watch guard & if thou understands the art of making such things I should be much obliged to thee to take one in hand.
I would have sent thee some braid to make it but on looking on our stock I found we had none of the colour I liked which is dark brown.
Most likely such things can be obtained at George Linney's & perhaps Lydia Rouse would be kind enough to tell thee how much will be required.
I enclose a shilling to pay for it -
Dear baby is getting on so nicely now & the other dear children are quite well - Gertrude says she wants to see thee very much indeed. I hope that is a pleasure we may all share in the course of a few months. I now do nicely again.
Cousins Margaret & Carry drove the little pony to Bedford yesterday to see our old & kind friend Mary Dumelow.- It was rather wet, but they did not take any cold.
With very dear love I am
Thy ever affectionate Papa
I have found a piece of Black braid which I think will do very well.
