Edward Harris Strange to Priscilla Strange 11 Oct 1848 Leicester 10/11/48 My dear P. Having completed my business for today I thought I would give thee a line or two - I arrived here last night at 8 o'clock, having been detained two hours on the way - one at Bletchley & one at Rugby.- There was a fair quantity of cheese at the fair & most of it has been sold. I bought three dairies, two at 60/- and one at 59/- Bentley should know this as I expect the Cheese will all reach [Marston?] before my return. There are a few small lots left over for tomorrow.- I hope to get off for Ackworth pretty early tomorrow.- By enquiries I made at the Station I find that I shall have to stop at Northampton & get on to the Wakefield line at that station - We have had great difficulty in getting the Cheese weight owing to the great quantity of Cheese sent by rail. I have just returned from the warehouse on the rail (6 o'clock) & there is a very long train of carts & Waggons to unload & will be several hours before they are finished - I hope I shall find a note from thee when I get to Ackworth. With dear love to F. & the Children & Self I am thine Affectionately E.H.S. Envelope.
