Title
Mary Ellen Strange to Samuel May Strange at Hertford Sept 1848
Ackworth 9th month
Dear Sammy
I hope thee likes school a little better than I do; how many boys are there besides thyself: ask M.A.Base to let thee write to me as I should very much like to hear from thee.
We have to get up at six here and go to bed at eight, we go into school at seven and breakfast at eight, in the morning into school again at 9 and out at 12 and then have our dinner go into school at two and stay till five have supper at six. I shall be so glad when thee come to school to have some one to go to flags to.
We get our letters in recess. We have a large room to wash in it is surrounded with basins and taps.
With dear love I remain
Thy affectionate sister Mary Ellen Strange.
