Archival history
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Acc.7949Records of the Bedford and District Branch of the Confederation for the Advancement of State Education (C.A.S.E) donated by Councillor Tony Mitchell, 51, Falcon Avenue, Bedford MK41 7DY, on 23rd March 1998.
Councillor Tony Mitchell, a member of C.A.S.E since 1970, became secretary of the Bedford and District branch in 1975 and chairman in 1977. Consequently, the records of the local branch (founded c.1970?) only date from the period when he became secretary. The whereabouts of the earlier records is not known, but they are not held by the Warwick University Modern Records Centre.
