Assignment i) Elizabeth St George, St Ann's, Middlesex, widow, surviving executor of will of Rose Panton, late of St Giles in the Fields, Middx, deceased ii) Samuel Osbourne, Tebworth, yeoman John Birchmore, Whipsnott [Whipsnade?] yeoman reciting deed of 27 January 1659[/60] a) William Paule, citizen and white baker of London, son of William Paule, late of Chalgrave, yeoman, deceased b) John Cheney, St Giles in the Fields, Middx, gentleman by which a) bargained and sold to b) - messuage, orchard, garden etc - 3 pightles of land adjoining (2 acres) at upper end of town of Hockley near Watling Street Road in Chalgrave, late in occupation of Elizabeth Paule, widow, mother of said William Paule - equity of redemption in -- 4 acres arable in Tibworth Field in Chalgrave in occupation of John Paule, Luton, yeoman, (heretofore the lands of William Paule, grandfather of a) reversion, remainder, rents etc term - 1000 years On 17 February 1660[/61] John Cheney made his nuncupative will by which he gave all that he had to his wife Rose Cheney and made her his executrix 'and soone after dyed' Rose Cheney later married Henry Panton, late of St Giles in the Fields, vintner, who soon after died intestate Administration of goods, chatells granted by PCC to Rose Panton. Reciting also will of Rose Panton dated 14 March 1667 by which she bequeathed residue of her estate, money, jewels, household stuffs etc to younger and only son, Henry Panton, and desired her sister, i), to care for him during his minority and her estate bequeathed to him might be disposed of by her executor and executrix for his best advantagem until 21. If he dies under 21, then estate to father, Edward Francis, and her 3 cousins, John, Thomas and Jennetta, the sons of i) equally, Richard Dix, citizen and wine cooper of London, and i) appointed joiny executors now i) in consideration of 75 paid by ii), assigns to ii) - messuage etc - 3 pightles of land adjoining (2 acres) at upper end of town of Hockley in Chalgrave [as above] once in occupation of Elizabeth Paul and late of Robert Flower - equity of redemption in -- 4 acres arable [as above] now in occupation of John Cardwell for remainder of term of 1000 years, with liberty to commit waste.
