Letter: Humph. Brandreth to Mr. Good, with copy of appmt. of present schoolmaster, Rich. Cumberland. Complains that Mr. Jacson's list of trustees contains two tenants of the Duke of Bedford who are therefore not landed proprietors.' The matter was concoted by Mr. Wilson and the Duke's steward upon the close Borough system of the Duke's appointing two of his tenants and of me appointing two of mine, Wilson literally being the Duke's nominee and I my own, but as I have objected [to] this plan it seems they substituted the landed proprietors for my tenants and keep in the Duke's nominees
