Conveyance by (i) to (ii) for 5/- and the natural love and affection he has towards his wife Alice Brandreth, and for her provision if she should survive him, and also for a provision for his children, Solomon, Nehemiah and Alice Brandreth, of: - manor of Houghton Regis in Beds. and Herts. - all messuages & lands in Beds. and Herts. which (i) formerly purchased of John Earl of Bridgwater; - advowson of vicarage of H.R. - lands and tenements in H.R. lately purchased of Thos. Priory, Michael Dickens and Jn Dickens; ... mess. or tents. now or late in tenures of Jas. Paddon and Jn. Ware & and (i), in H.R., which (i) lately purchased of Wm. Metcalfe and w. Anne and Francis Marsh; - the mayor of Seywell - farm or reputed farm of Seywell parcel of the manor of Seywell now or late in the tenures of Rich. Andrew, Oliver Newman and Michael Cooke - all other property in Beds. and Herts. which (i) lately purchased of Sir Lewis Dive knight - farm with mess. and tents. now or late in ten. Richard Partridge in Tilsworth to hold to the uses of (i) for life, then one third part to the use of wife Alice, and as to the other two third parts, and reversion of the third to his wife: - 60 rent charge for the support of son Solomon, to be paid to w. Alice or to the children Nehemiah and Alice, to be spent as follows: 20 diet, washing and lodging; 10 for apparel; 10 to be paid to Solomon at 4s. a week for his own expenses; 10 to an honest and discreet servant to wait on him; 10 for the upkeep of the servant, who is to "look to him the said Solomon to keepe him out of ill company". The rest to use of wife Alice to educate and maintain Nehemiah until he attains age 21. Dau. Alice to receive 1000, then rest to use son Nehemiah and heirs, in default half to use Alice and heirs in default to Solomon and heirs, and half to use Solomon and heirs in default to Alice and heirs. At foot memorandum that this is a true copy of the original indenture which they saw sealed. Wm. Eeles, Jas. Paddon, Mich.
