Note: Until 1897 approximately half of the parish of Caddington was in Bedfordshire and half in Hertfordshire. Parish Officers were appointed for each part. The parish also includes the hamlets of Woodside, Slip End, Alley Green and Chaul End, and Markyate which is now a separate parish in Hertfordshire. The Chapel at MARKYATE was built in 1734, but it was a chapelry in the parish of Caddington and apparently the registers do not commence until later. The Church of St.Andrew, WOODSIDE, was built in 1890 and it has registers from that date. It is now a parish in its own right.
