    Copyhold deed recording Admission to land Records finding at the Court [compertum est] by the homage [no Court heading; which Court?]: - that William Doggett who held by custom of the manor the following land which descended to him by legal inheritance after the death of his father Thomas Doggett (as appears on the preceding Rolls of the Court held on the feast of St.Sexburga[?] 34 Henry VIII, the 'late King') - 1 cottage with appurtenances in Egindon; - 5 acres of land with appurtenances in the fields of Leighton [Buzzard]; - 4 butts of land containing 1 acre; - 5 acres of land in the fields of Egington; - 2 closes , one called Burcottes [?] and the other Roswike* [?]; in respect of which there fell due to the Lord by way of heriot a castrated horse worth 40s. - that Thomas Doggett is his [i.e. William Doggett's] son and heir and of [full?] age, and being present in the Court is admitted to the above land by the Steward according to the custom of the manor and with seisin delivered by the rod habendum et tenendum to Thomas Doggett by the rents, at the usual terms and other customs. Fine to the Lord for such estate: 26s. 8d. Admission with fealty respited. Noted as taken from the Court Roll and examined [as a copy] by Edmund Bolsworth
