Title
Horne Lane Brewery. The brewery site
Declaration by Wm. Hurst of Bedford as to identity of
part of premises. He was clerk at the brewery to Ste. Benson
1826-36, to Johnstone & Redden 1836-1848, to Redden 1848-50.
The premises are bounded N. by Horne Lane, S. by river Ouse,
E. by property of the Harpur Charity Trustees, W. by property
of Thos. Barnard. There were 2 cottages occupied by Wid. Veal
and Dan. Brown, and 5 cottages occupied by Wm. White, Thos.
Mortimore, John Baxter & Hen. Tysoe. Ste. Benson pulled down
all these cottages. They stood on the land lately sold to
Piggot and Wells.
