Bedfordshire on Sunday was a free newspaper. The first issue of Bedfordshire on Sunday (BoS), then called Bedford On Sunday, appeared on 6 March 1977. Later in the 1980s and 1990s local editions, e.g. Mid Beds editions, were published. It became part of the Trinity Mirror group. In September 2017 it was published for the last time. It was replaced in October 2017 by a free midweek newspaper distributed throughout the county called Bedfordshire Midweek but this ceased publication in 2018. The Trinity Mirror group was rebranded as Reach plc in 2018.
Scope and Content
There are four series of photographs, male portraits (X881/4), female portraits (X881/5), and subjects and places (X881/6-7). These comprise a mixture of colour and black and white photographs, with occasional printed brochures, from a variety of sources. The system of filing used by BoS for places and subjects was inconsistent and at times it has been completely impossible to understand what the picture, which are rarely labelled and very rarely dated, represent.
