Telephone No. 19 Dear Sir, Bedfordshire Quarter Sessions – Heslington -v- Woburn Justices. We are obliged by your letter of 28th November, and we shall be glad if you will enter the above Appeal for the Sessions to be held on Wednesday 4th January 1922. The Appellant is Percy Heslington of 4. New Street, Sandbach, Elsworth in the County of Chester, Steam Lorry Driver and the Respondents are Samuel Joseph Stock of Woburn in the County of Bedford Inspector of Police and the Justices sitting at the Court of Summary Jurisdiction at the Town Hall Woburn through Mr. Frederic Thomas Tanqueray, their Clerk. The Appeal is against a conviction by the Justices of the Appellant at Woburn on 28th October 1921, for having unlawfully driven a motor lorry on a public highway in a manner dangerous to the public having regard to all the circumstances of the case. For your information, we enclose a copy of the Notice of Appeal which has been served on Inspector Stock and Mr. Tanqueray. TAKE NOTICE that I Percy Heslington, of 4. New Street, Elsworth, Sandbach, in the County of Chester, Steam Lorry, Driver, do hereby give you and each of you notice that it is my intention at the next practicable General Quarter Sessions of the Peace to be holden at Bedford in and for the County of Bedford to appeal against a certain conviction of me by the Court of Summary Jurisdiction sitting at Woburn in the said County on the twenty eight day of October One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty One for having on the seventh day of October One Thousand Nine Hundred and Twenty One at Hockliffe in the said County of Bedford unlawfully driven a motor lorry on a public highway there in a manner dangerous to the public having regard to all the circumstances of the case contrary to the statute in that case provided AND THAT the general grounds of such appeal are: - 1. That I am aggrieved by the said conviction. 2. That I am not guilty of the said offence 3. That the said conviction was and is bad in law. 4. That the evidence given at the hearing before the said Court of Summary Jurisdiction was not sufficient to support the said conviction. 5.
