    Examinations and depositions: Examination of Geo. Traveller, Millbrook, labr. Saw Jas. Grummit take a horse pistol from the holster of the saddle of Wm. Britain’s horse while it was standing in the yard of Wm. Seabrook, Houghton Conquest, publican. Wm. Britain of Clophill was a private soldier in the Bedfordshire Troop of Yeomanry Cavalry. Grummit went over the fence and across the fields to the back of the house. Later he told Geo. Traveller where he had hidden it and he went to the spot and found it under a hedge covered with bushes. The field was in the occupation of Wm. George, Houghton Conquest, constable.
