Copies of family and topographical photographs belonging to Mr W S Knight of Oakley

The Knight family of Middle Farm, Oakley descended from Margaret Newell (1892-1967) the daughter of Elizabeth (1866-1936) and Edward F Newell (d 1947) of Oakley. Elizabeth was the daughter of Alfred White (1838-5/12/1917) and his wife Elizabeth. Alfred, a farm bailiff, moved to Oakley between 1871 and 1881. Alfred had been born in Wavendon, Bucks but had later lived in Woburn (where his son George was born) and later Knotting (where daughter Sarah Elizabeth and son John were born).
Elizabeth and Edward F Newell had two daughters - Margaret and Edith (b 1892) - and two sons - Edward George (b 1900), and John (b 1902). Edward G farmed at Queens College Farm, Oakley.
Margaret and William Knight had four children - William S (b 1921), Margaret (b 1922), John L (b 1925) and Dorothy (b 1929).

Copy photographs made by Beds CC photographic unit in 1990 from two albums and additional negatives lent by Mr William S Knight of Middle Farm. Not all photographs in the album were photographed - photocopies of pages were taken as reference sheets and these are retained by the archives service under the accession paperwork.
