Update on post received. Responses to no. 7 and no. 18. Fritz’s approval of Grantham’s account; has paid for half of Mr Parker’s Vicuna, has now added half of 3 1/2 yards for Draper’s. Encoignures, things put in corner; four finished at Valencia. ‘Encoigneurs’ is the person who does a thing in a corner. Distinction in spelling. Wonders whether anything is meant by Lord Hinton; would be a happy match. Engraving of the Lady and children very pretty, thinks Mr Martin’s Collection will be so too. Pain in Nanny’s wrist, hopes Lord Pelham’s diagnosis of gout may not be true. Swedish Consul from Lisbon brought to Grantham by M. de Ramel. Recommended to Waddilove by Allen. Dined next day; M. and Me. Ramel, his brother, Heland, the Consul and Burgos. Has finished his course of Asses milk. Takes orangeade for Rinfresco. Putting on weight. Glad Lord Stormont acquitted himself well. Hopes his Colleague does the same. Sorry for Lord Ossory. “With Whom?”. Comment of divorces. Bishop of Landaff/Llandaff mentioned, (Shute Barrington).
