  • Title
Typescript of a case held at Sharnbrook. C. Magniac Esq. v. William Headland and Charles Norman for malicious damage to a gate at Colworth on his property. The defendants were accused of damaging the gate when they climbed over it and the defence was that the gate was blocking a right of way. Case dismissed as the chairman said it was not in the jurisdiction of the Bench to determine whether a footpath or not and that the defendants took care to enquire whether the gate would open before they clambered over it, they did no more damage than was necessary in doing so.
