  • Scope and Content
From: 32436 Pte CA Cazaly, 17th Royal Sussex Regiment, Egyptian Expeditionary Force, Egypt Dear Mrs Verdcourt, I received your letter of December 6th yesterday, and am glad to say Cyril is quite well. He has just come back from a seven days leave at Cairo. No doubt you have heard from him since he came out of Hospital about a fortnight ago. He went there with tonsillitis. I am sorry that letter returned to your son caused you to be anxious, I can’t make out why it wasn’t sent on to him here. Cyril and I are not so much together as we used to be as I am a Military Policeman now and consequently away from the camp. However I expect we shall both be on our way to Blighty during the next two months. Please excuse pencil as I have lost my pen for the moment. Once again thanking you for your confidence. I assure you it has been no trouble. With kind regards Yours respectfully CA Cazaly
