'Hockliffe'. The view is believed to show the High Street/Watling Street. A building on the right bears an advert for 'Beskin's Watford Ales and Stout'; a further sign on the left side of the street advertises 'J.W.Green's noted Luton Ales'. Both buildings have a hanging sign outside, which cannot be read, but indicate that the premises is a public house. Published by by J.E.Slapoffski, Northampton.
