This will was proved the 29th September 1759 before the Revd (Reverend) Mr Wm (William) Smith, Surrogate, to the Revd (Reverend) John Taylor D:D Comary (Commissary) and official of the archdeaconary of Beford lawfully constituted and by him approved and allowed of and for the validity thereof lawfully pronounced and declared and the burthen (burden) of the execution thereof was and is committed and granted to Mary Whisson and James Clearson joint executrix and executor named in the said will being first sworn saving the right of everyone.

In the name of God amen I Abraham Wisson of Clifton in the county of Bedford husbandman being sick and weak in body but of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say, first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it, my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor and Executrix hereinafter named and as for my worldly estate which it hath pleased God to bless me with I give devise and bequeath thereof as followeth. Item I give devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Whisson all my real and personall (personal) estate goods and effects whatsoever and wheresoever that I shall be possessed of or entitled to at the time of my decease after my debts and funeral charges are fully paid and satisfied to her own life and benefit and I do hereby nominate and appoint my beloved wife Mary Whisson and James Clearson of Shefford in the County of Bedford malster (maltster) Executor and Executrix of this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other will and wills by me heretofore made ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this first day of February one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine.
