Flattered by the attentions shown to Nanny at Court. Has been thanked in Spain for Fritz's civilities to the Almodovars. Hope Madame Almodovar will not comply with the severity of Spanish mourning which would make her shut up house. Thoughts of summer style fabrics in olive, attracted to the colour as it was like Nanny's. Happy at her pleasure at chair and it’s height. No idea how she dresses or how high her head really is. Fritz's election at Brook’s when so large a company was present was wonderful. The two Angelica's [Kaufmann’s] Mr. Parker has given Nanny. What are subjects? Wants little girl's picture by Angelica, wants it and the little boy's copied in miniature for a loynette. Would like Powel to copy Reynolds. Madame Ramel dined in her Swedish dress. Description. In an English Masquerade would be called 'Reuben's Wife'. The Marquis de Burgos was also present, his father was Minister in Sweden. Fritz gives a good account of his health. Tom's complaint doesn't seem serious. Grantham's health and looks described. Letter from Bishop of Chester [Beilby Porteous]. Expecting the English travellers by the end of the month. [Chatham & Conway, see /244/245-247]. Nobody has such good and constant correspondents as he has in Fritz and Nanny.
