Waddilove in Paris. Mr. St. Paul, Secretary to the Embassy, to marry Miss Weston, their little friend. She gave Waddilove a letter for Mrs. Aislabie. Madmoiselle Aublesheren, their favourite dancer married her partner M. Rossi. Dancing at Opera in England very bad this year but Miss Davies is an extraordinary singer. Despite all his talk Fritz is no more of a connoisseur than ever. Thinks his 'Alexander's Feast' as fine a piece of music as any. Finished Sir Charles Grandison, now reading Richardson's Clarissa in French. Hope Mrs. Townshend recovered from the shock of losing her little boy and that Nanny will resume her Loo parties. They play at Loo at twopence halfpenny a fish. Party includes Madame Zenowieff, the Venetian Embassador and the Swede. Eat toasted cheese. Carnival short this year. Streets of Madrid stink of oil and saltfish constantly, during Lent.
