- Date free text2 May 1775
- Production dateFrom: 1775 To: 1775
- Scope and ContentApologies for things left undone as yet and delay in acknowledging letters. Heard no more from Dean, will not forget him. Brief mention of Dean's friends Clough and Jackson. Topcliffe to be Waddilove's headquarters, would have spent summer making them more convenient if his plans had been clearer. Dislikes the alteration in the TP much, of less importance to Grantham as old road kept open to Mill, to Skipton etc... Thanks for attention to passports. Will send to Mr. St. Paul for those he's received. Colonel Ross and Baird set out tomorrow. Waddilove not accompanying them due to unfinished business and Carriage to be used similarly incomplete. May stay until September. Hopes B. Sparre not in a hurry, the school will be provided with mezzotintos etc... Mr. Sykes mentioned. Mr. R's gloves sent. Colonel Ross bringing two Circingles and two saddle cloths, pamphlets etc.... Two cheeses from Mr. Davies consigned to Kilpatrick & Elcott at Malaga. Told Baird he should send some porter, if he doesn't give him any. If bottled at Bilbao or elsewhere corks should be waxed or resined.
