Acknowledges favours of 25 July by Mr Lloyd and Mr Terthmaker, 1 September by Signor Gentili and 5th instant by post. Procured Signor Gentili a passage to Genoa - "opportunitys of our Colours from this to Italy are very frequent at all Seasons of the year"; if Chevalier Mengs determines on coming will try to accommodate him with a vessel. Will make stay of Mr Pelham and Mr Waddilow as agreeable as possible. Would appreciate early information of " any probability of alteration in present tranquility" so can inform British subjects here. (Sic).
