Received letter of 2 February and has accordingly ordered the scagliola plateau for Monsieur Zenoruist [Zenoweff?] of same form and size as yours; border is running antique ornament in chiaro scuro of white on yellow ground; the pavement divided as your lordship's but in imitation of giallo antique and white instead of porphyry and white - this is finished. Had put off writing until I had consigned them to Signor Azara but being obliged to set out for England my friend here Mr Norton will have honour of delivering them as soon as the vase is finished. Continually reminds Mengs about the portrait - his health very bad; Mr Norton will continue to remind him; hope it will be finished on return in October.
