(ii) Thomas Anderson Rudd of Ampthill esquire and wife Frances (iii) John Gibbard of Sharnbrook, esquire and wife Mary (iv) John Austin of Bedford, Carpenter and joiner (v) William Berrill of Bedford bricklayer Recites from 1786 (marriage settlement of Leonard Hampson), Leonard Hampson died intestate on or about the 5th March 1824 leaving his two daughters Frances and Mary as his heirs at law. --Close called Hither Gate hill close (3 acres, 1 rood, 8p) in Bedford St Paul's, late occupation James Langley, since of William Millard, now John Austin, bounded by Clapham turnpike road. North close of Francis Green esquire and garden of Bedford corporation East, part of corporation garden and a close lately sold to James Woodroffe South. Close called Gate hill close lately sold to Reverend Thomas Short West; with tithes of hay, grass, wool etc. In consideration of £650 paid by (iv) to (i-iii), land goes from (i-iii) to (iv) to the use of (iv), (v) being a dower trustee to bar any present or future wife of (iv) being entitled to dower.
