  • Scope and Content
The dean and chapter want to express their appreciation of the “Charge” which William gave the day before at his first visitation. They are persuaded that the topics that William brought up were suited to the times and “the dignified sentiments which accompanied their discussion so admirably calculated to rouse the attention and give additional energy to the exertions of your Clergy”. They also foresee benefits of the utmost importance may be derived to the Established Church from their obtaining a more effectual publicity than can be expected to result from a single delivering, however animated and impressive. Hope that William will permit printed copies of his “Charge” to be put into circulation in Armagh Diocese.
