    These signed minute books include resolutions (sometimes with detailed background information relating to matters dealt with by the Council's several (Sub-)Committees). These include the following Committees: Allocation (Joint) Benefits [see also NHS/EC2/2] Dental/Dental Services Deputising Services Dispensing Equipment Finance and General Purposes Hours of Service [see also NHS/EC2/3] Joint Services Medical Services Ophthalmic Services and Ophthalmic Investigation Pharmaceutical Services Pharmacy Practices Planning Staffing in addition to including reports of other ad hoc Committees established by the Council and reports of the Joint Committee of representatives of the Executive Council and the local Medical Committee [see also NHS/EC2/1] and Sub-Committee reports of the Bedfordshire and Luton Local Medical Council. Most of the contents of the Minute Books are concerned with matters generated by the above Committees. This regularly includes the following matters and issues: Summaries of Circular letters received from the Ministry of Health (and later DHSS), Health Boards, and other statutory bodies Administration, (including general statements of financial account) and premises of the Council and its operations Personnel issues: staffing appointments, remuneration etc Finance of health services: payment of allowances and loans to practices (eg surgery alterations), applications for orthodontic appliances, emergency fees, mileage claims, training etc Refund claims for expensive and special drugs (scheduled) Schemes for drug appliance and testing Changes (with addresses etc) to Medical, Dental, Pharmaceutical and Ophthalmic lists Prescribing (and ophthalmic) statistics Complaint cases re professional conduct (administration of treatment etc), payment etc Provision and reorganisations of medical services including reclassification of medical practice areas and Health Centre Development; proposals for new surgery premises, relocations etc Rotas including schedules of dispensing hours (by place with business names and addresses included) Terms of service for practitioners
