- TitleCorrespondence from Bodinson, William, Woburn, (Abbey) to Percival Beaumont: Reads- Whitbread's friends reported in Bedford this morning that he is canvassing town tomorrow. I saw copy of letter to be sent to Duke, & was informed by Vowell that it has been signed by near 200 voters, majority Duke's old friends, & shown to Whitbread: it is a sort of a dutifull address to Duke and to show their dislike to the coalition. This eve. one of the Costins says Whitbread will not canvass until after Vernon & Sir Thomas Hatton, but this is doubtful. Swepson, Hurst & self have today made list of town voters.
