Letter: from Richard Dillingham at No 21 Kite & Balloon Section RFC Camp, [France] to Christine Dillingham at Kings Road, Flitwick - writer expects by the time she receives this letter Christmas Day will be over but hopes she has a nice time over the holiday; - asks his wife not to worry as he is in the best of health and spirits and "nearly as safe here as at home"; - notes he is sorry that he has not sent anything home for Christmas; - notes that he has just finished a guard on the balloon during which it was very cold. "I was on 8 to 10 and 2 to 4 and I can tell you I thought about you and home a good many times during the night"; - comments they will think about these times and laugh about them in years to come; - notes he is glad he has not been sent any tobacco or cigarettes as they get an issue of these every week. "I've smoked more since I've been out here than I ever did before"; - comments that Charles wishes the Compliments of the season; - notes he has received a parcel from kind friends of Flitwick and he wishes to thank the Revd Ward Petty. The parcel contained, 2 candles, small cake of soap, small box of acid sweets, packet of cigarettes, two cakes of chocolate and a box of chocolate tablets; - comments he has also received a letter and parcel from Alice which contained, 50 cigarettes, box of oxo tablets and lots of chocolates; - comments "Fancy Maud Lamb being married"; - asks "is it right that Jesse Ellis has been missing for some weeks now"?; - asks how May and Brock are going on?; - expects Min & Reg will be up at Christmas and hopes Min will stay; - "I do hope you wont be left in the house all by yourself as I know how dull it is for you"; - notes that "The time will soon come round when I shall come home again and then what a time we will have" and that "I shall think of you a good many times these next few days and wonder how you and the children are getting on";
