My dear Friend E.H.Strange
We feel very much concerned at the intelligence conveyed in thy note which reached us this afternoon; we had not previously heard of the illness of thy beloved wife and tenderly sympathise with her, in her suffering and with thee under so afflictive a dispensation, well knowing what it is to pass through such a season, but knowing also that the chastening hand of Divine Love, will not lay upon us more than He will enable us to bear, and I thought my dear Friend there was in thy few lines a comforting Evidence that the sustaining of All Sufficient Power was near thee in this close trial -
We shall feel anxious to have tidings of the dear Invalid, and so will dear little Sammy, perhaps some of the family would kindly favour us with a few lines -
If consistent with the Divine Will mayest thou be favoured my dear friend with the preservation of one so dear, and may thy mind be stayed in quiet resignation upon Him Who is mighty to Help and who is often better unto us than all our fears -
With much love to thee & thine in which we all unite I am thy truly sympathising friend
M.A.Bayes
Dear Sammy is quite well and conducting himself very nicely -
